ABOUT

As a child, I was very fortunate to have supportive parents who encouraged my interests. At age 11, I took an interest in painting. When my parents saw how much I enjoyed watching Bob Ross on TV, they decided to enroll me into oil painting classes. My interest in art never faded and I went on to study art in college and obtained my Associate of Arts degree in Washington.
On June 27, 2010 My Mom lost her battle with cancer. She was 59. I recall one of the last conversations I had with her, she said:
“You must keep creating your art Sarah”
From that moment, my perspective on life shifted. My Mom became my biggest inspiration and my Guardian Angel.
Art became an essential part of the grieving and healing process for me. It emerged as a way to express my emotions that I wasn’t capable of through words alone. It allowed me to heal my heart, and regain the self-confidence I had lost.
As I continued to create, I was approached to do commission work. I found commission work to be the most rewarding as I was able to bring someone’s vision to reality and learn more about them and myself in the process.
My love of being out in nature is where I gain most of my inspiration. I enjoy taking the beauty I find in nature, and combining it with the emotions and symbolism that exist in my imagination, and expressing them in my artwork.
If my art speaks to you, I hope you will consider hiring me to bring your vision to reality. I would love for you to be a part of my journey, and for me to be a part of yours.
I recently relocated to Plano, TX and excited to have more space and time to create. For those of you whom would like to learn how to express yourself creatively and are seeking guidance on how to start, I would like to begin teaching one on one lessons. Please contact me if you are interested.
